preparation
I have a whole set of dry skin stuff ready for the winter. Thick, thick hand cream. Moisturizer for the face, Burt’s Bees for the lips. Saline spray for the nose. I even bought a humidifier. A warm mist one.
I plugged it in the other day, turned it on high, closed my bedroom door, and fell asleep. I woke up the next morning and the room was a sauna. Easily 20 degrees warmer in there than elsewhere in the house. The windows were completely fogged up. I peeled back the sheets and comforter and walked over to them with a towel. The soft white blanket of the first real snow of the season greeted me with each squeaky swipe of the towel.
currently stuck on Magnolia Electric Company:
I mean it broke what wasn’t broken in there already
Thought of all my great reasons for leaving
Now I can’t think of any
It’s true it was a hard time that I’ve come through
It’s made me thankful for the blues
